Muhamed Besic hopes Everton can go on winning run

Muhamed Besic is hopeful that Everton can go on a winning run after holding on to a 1-1 draw against Premier League champions Manchester City.

Everton midfielder Muhamed Besic has expressed his belief that he and his teammates can go on a run of victories after picking up a point against Manchester City at the weekend.

Steven Naismith netted a 76th-minute equaliser against the Premier League champions at Goodison Park to seal a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Prior to that, Roberto Martinez's side lost four league fixtures in a row, but Besic is hoping that the weekend's result is a turning point.

"It was very important for us to have the crowd behind us," Besic told the Liverpool Echo. "It is difficult when you are not winning games but sometimes we know that we have been unlucky so maybe now we will win the next four games.

"We only have to keep playing the style of football the manager wants. We deserved the point because in our last few games we have been unlucky."

The Merseyside outfit are currently 12th in the league table.
