Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar has refused to get carried away with the club's strong start to the season.

The Toffees are currently second in the Premier League table with four wins and a draw from their opening six matches.

"We are not there yet. After 10 games we can say how well we have done," Pienaar told the Liverpool Daily Post. "At the moment we are still working towards a good start so we must wait and see. It's a good feeling for the guys.

"We have been working really hard and it's important to get the points to make sure we break away from the other teams below us, but there's still a long way to go."

The Merseysiders continue the campaign on Saturday when they travel to Wigan Athletic.
