Team News: Ross Barkley returns for Everton against Sunderland

Ross Barkley returns to the Everton starting lineup for their Premier League encounter at home to Sunderland.

Ross Barkley has been recalled to the Everton starting lineup for this afternoon's Premier League clash against Sunderland at Goodison Park.

The midfielder had to settle for a place on the bench last weekend as the Toffees were beaten 3-2 by Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Roberto Martinez has made one other change to his side as Leon Osman also comes in. Steven Naismith and Kevin Mirallas are the men who make way.

Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat has been forced into one change following last weekend's 2-1 win over Southampton, with Wes Brown replacing the injured John O'Shea.

Everton: Howard; Coleman, Baines, Stones, Jagielka; McCarthy, Barry; Lennon, Barkley, Osman; Lukaku
Subs: Robles, Garbutt, Besic, Naismith, McGeady, Mirallas, Kone

Sunderland: Pantilimon; Jones, Van Aanholt, Brown, Coates; Larsson, Cattermole, Gomez; Defoe, Wickham, Graham
Subs: Mannone, Reveillere, Vergini, Bridcutt, Buckley, Johnson, Fletcher
