Fortuna Duseldorf coach Norbert Meier has labelled his side's match with 17th-placed Hoffenheim as "very important".

His side are looking to move away from relegation danger with the win while Hoffenheim need the points in order to claw their way into the relegation playoff spot.

"The game against Hoffenheim is very important," he told the club's official website.

"While it is not Hoffenheim's last chance, a loss would hurt them a lot. We have the opportunity to beat a direct competitor."

The match kicks off tonight at 7.30pm.
