Fulham midfielder Steve Sidwell has had his claim for wrongful dismissal rejected at an independent regulatory commission hearing.
The 31-year-old was dismissed in the second period of his side's 3-2 win over Queens Park Rangers on Monday following a late challenge on Armand Traore.
A statement on the FA's official website read: "Fulham's Steve Sidwell has had his claim for wrongful dismissal rejected. Sidwell was dismissed for serious foul play during his side's game at home to Queens Park Rangers on April 1, 2013.
"The player's three-match suspension will therefore commence with immediate effect."
Sidwell has made 20 league appearances for the club this season.
