Reports suggest that Fulham will sell second-choice keeper David Stockdale to fund the acquisition of Roma's Maarten Stekelenburg.

Fulham have reportedly put a £4m price tag on goalkeeper David Stockdale as they attempt to raise the cash for a move for Roma stopper Maarten Stekelenburg.

The Cottagers were rumoured to be close to signing the Dutch international during the January transfer window.

Martin Jol is thought to view the 30-year-old as the successor to Mark Schwarzer between the sticks and has agreed a £5.1m deal with the Serie A outfit.

Stockdale, who has spent the majority of the season on loan at Hull City, now looks to be heading for the exit door in order to fund the deal.

According to The Express, the Tigers face competition from West Ham United for the 27-year-old's signature.

He arrived at Craven Cottage from Darlington in 2008, but has failed to dislodge Schwarzer from the first team.
