New Fulham owner Shahid Khan has revealed that he will give manager Martin Jol funds to spend in the transfer market, but wants his side to finish in the top 10 of the Premier League.
The American billionaire, who also owns NFL side Jacksonville Jaguars, completed his takeover of the Cottagers on Friday, buying out former owner Mohamed Al-Fayed.
"I want to give them all the resources that they need and then hold them accountable," The Express quotes Khan as saying. "We have a great team here in leadership of the football operation, and they have a plan. I've only been here a day, so I would like to understand that.
"What we do on players is going to depend on Martin. I am not a micro manager. I have learned lessons in America about how you go about things, and what I know is that you find the best people, empower them, give them the resources and hold them accountable. Maybe a top-10 finish is attainable."
Fulham are currently on their pre-season tour of Costa Rica and recorded a victory in their first game.
