Kostas Katsouranis tells his Greek teammates to fight for their country when they face Germany in Friday's Euro 2012 quarter-final.

Greece's Kostas Katsouranis has urged his teammates to fight for their country when they take on Germany in Friday's Euro 2012 quarter-final in Gdansk.

The 2004 winners are at the centre of the current Eurozone crisis and come up against a political foe at the PGE Arena.

"There is this feeling of self-sacrifice in the team, just like in 2004," the 33-year-old told reporters. "We are here to represent our country, who is going through a lot.

"The Germans are the favorites while we are the outsiders, but we do have some small chances of pulling off another minor miracle.

"For any political questions you have, we have a new prime minister who you can call."

Greece finished behind the Czech Republic in Group A, while Germany came top of Group B.
