Houston Dynamo win a club record fifth successive match at the expense of New York Red Bulls on Tim Cahill's league debut.

Houston Dynamo have recorded an important 2-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls to go top of the Eastern Conference.

Dynamo never looked back after scoring inside two minutes with Jermaine Taylor's first MLS goal.

New signing Tim Cahill struggled to make an impact for the Red Bulls as Houston quickly established a 2-0 lead. Calen Caar was left unmarked and converted a simple header to make the game relatively safe after just 30 minutes of the match.

Cahill and star striker Thierry Henry could not reduce the deficit in the second half as the Red Bulls slumped to a disappointing away defeat.

Houston's fifth successive win set a new club record as they firmly established themselves as the team to beat in the East in MLS this season.
