Leicester City boss Claude Puel: 'Vicente Iborra will miss rest of the season'

Leicester City boss Claude Puel confirms that a hamstring injury will keep midfielder Vicente Iborra on the sidelines for the rest of the season.

Leicester City boss Claude Puel has revealed that Vicente Iborra will not play again this season due to a hamstring injury.

Last weekend, Iborra was forced off during the first half of the 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United, and Puel acknowledged after the game that he was not optimistic about the Spaniard's chances of appearing again before the middle of May.

Puel has now confirmed that Iborra has joined Matty James and Wilfred Ndidi on the sidelines, with Hamza Choudhury expected to be included in the starting lineup against Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

At a press conference, the 56-year-old told reporters: "Iborra has a hamstring injury. He will not be available until the end of the season.

"We are unlucky about our midfield at this moment, with Iborra, with [Matty] James and {Wilfred] Ndidi."

Iborra has scored three times in 17 outings in the Premier League this season.
