Nigel Pearson not planning big Leicester City changes

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson claims that he is unlikely to overhaul his squad this summer ahead of the club's return to the Premier League.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has claimed that he is unlikely to make too many changes to his squad this summer ahead of the club's return to the Premier League.

The Foxes sealed their promotion to the top flight at the start of the month following a 10-year absence.

While admitting that certain changes need to be made in terms of the players at his disposal, Pearson is not expecting too many departures from the King Power Stadium.

"We operate with a small squad as it is. There aren't going to be too many changes in that sense. We are probably going to be adding to it more than anything else," he told the Leicester Mercury.

"The additions have got to be right. The criteria for that is they either have experience playing in top-level football, in one of the best European leagues, or they have got to be an outstanding talent.

"We have got to recruit in a way that we get players who are going to complement what we have in terms of character and experience, but they have got to be capable of playing at the top end. That's going to be key."

Leicester conclude their Championship campaign on Saturday at home to Doncaster Rovers.
