Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has admitted that he could end up playing elsewhere, as he hopes to keep performing into his 40s.

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has admitted he could end up playing elsewhere.

The Foxes number one has featured in all 22 of their Premier League games this season, with the club conceding 41 goals throughout those fixtures.

The 35-year-old has been with Leicester since the 2011-12 season when the team was part of the Championship, and he has been consistently used regardless of who was in charge.

"All my heroes and inspirations played well into their 40s so maybe I will try somewhere else or maybe not, I do not know what is round the corner, do I? I have a family that I need to take care of and put first at some point," he said to the Mail On Sunday.

"Leicester has been the club that I have grown the most in, the club I have felt at home in. This is the club that has given me so much in terms of my life and football. I always wanted to be a one-club man. Doing it for one club over an extended period is what the elite do."

During his time with the Foxes, Schmeichel has won both the Premier League and Championship as well as the FA Community Shield and FA Cup, while they will be in action on Thursday in the Europa Conference League against Randers.
