Leicester City winger Demarai Gray is expected to sign a new deal at the club in the next 24 to 48 hours, according to manager Craig Shakespeare.

Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare has revealed that Demarai Gray is expected to sign a new deal at the club in the next 24 to 48 hours.

The 21-year-old, who joined the club from Birmingham City in 2016, was believed to be the subject of multiple bids from Premier League clubs during the summer transfer window.

Gray has grown frustrated due to a lack of first-team opportunities, having made just 10 starts in the top flight and 38 substitute appearances for the Foxes.

When asked about Gray's future, Shakespeare told Sky Sports News: "I'm hopeful that [a new deal] be concluded very soon. I'm hoping within the next 24-48 hours."

"He's one that we want to improve with us and it shows our stance that we want to keep our best players."

Gray could feature for Leicester on Saturday against Bournemouth, one of the teams reportedly eager to secure his signature during the summer.
