Liverpool recall striker Mohamed Salah for their Champions League clash at Manchester City.

Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has passed a late fitness test to make the starting XI for the second leg of their Champions League clash with Manchester City.

The Egypt international missed last weekend's goalless draw with Everton thanks to the groin injury he suffered in the first leg, but is back to lead the attack at the Etihad Stadium.

The club's top scorer will be joined by Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino in the final third as Jurgen Klopp's side seek to finish the job they began with a 3-0 win at Anfield.

Liverpool have made just one change from the team which started the first leg, with Georginio Wijnaldum replacing Jordan Henderson in midfield.

Meanwhile, the big news for hosts City is that striker Sergio Aguero has been passed unfit to start, with the Argentine yet to return to the first XI since suffering a knee injury.

There is a change at the back for the Sky Blues as captain Vincent Kompany makes way for Aymeric Laporte, who lines up alongside Kyle Walker and Nicolás Otamendi in a back three.

In midfield, Ilkay Gundogan drops to the bench to make way for Bernardo Silva, and Raheem Sterling starts in an advanced position against his former club.

Manchester City: Ederson; Walker, Otamendi, Laporte; Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Silva, Sane; Sterling, Bernardo, G Jesus
Subs: Bravo, Aguero, Kompany, Foden, Gundogan, Zinchenko, Delph

Liverpool: Karius; Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson; Milner, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Mane, Salah, Firmino
Subs: Mignolet, Clyne, Moreno, Klavan, Solanke, Ings, Woodburn
