Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that the club still do not know the full extent of Adam Lallana's injury, but is hopeful that it is "not too serious".
The 28-year-old hobbled off the pitch with a groin problem in the 27th minute of England's 2-2 draw with Spain at Wembley on Tuesday evening.
Since returning to Melwood on Wednesday, Lallana has been assessed by the Reds' medical staff, and reports have claimed that he will not be risked in Saturday's trip to his former club Southampton at St Mary's.
While addressing the media on Thursday morning, Klopp did not completely rule Lallana out of contention for this weekend, but he claimed that "it will be close" as the midfielder has only just undergone a scan.
Reports have claimed that Lallana's injury is similar to the groin problem that he suffered in Liverpool's 2-1 win over Swansea City last month, which kept him out for 12 days.
