Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva sidelined with groin injury

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva is ruled out of action for "a little bit of time" with a groin injury.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Lucas Leiva will be sidelined for "a little bit of time" with a groin injury.

The midfielder was forced off with the problem during the early stages of Saturday's 0-0 draw with Everton at Goodison Park.

The Brazilian will now miss tomorrow night's visit of Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

"Lucas is one that will probably miss a little bit of time," Rodgers is quoted as saying by the club's official website. "We're just waiting on the exact results of the scan."

Liverpool are currently in seventh place in the table, five points adrift of the Champions League positions.
