Philippe Coutinho: We were "virtually perfect" in attack against Leicester City

Philippe Coutinho says that Liverpool's attacking play against Leicester City last weekend was "virtually perfect".

Philippe Coutinho has described Liverpool's attacking play against Leicester City as "virtually perfect".

The Reds marked their first game at Anfield since the redevelopment of the Main Stand with a 4-1 win over the defending Premier League champions last weekend.

Coutinho made an appearance off the substitutes' bench in the 76th minute after his lengthy travels with the Brazil national team, but the match was pretty much wrapped up before his cameo.

Roberto Firmino netted twice, while Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana contributed to the scoreline, which was only marred by Jamie Vardy's goal - gifted to him following Lucas Leiva's mistake.

"It was an excellent game, an excellent performance by the team," Coutinho told the club's official website. "Everyone played very well, we did what the manager asked us to do.

"Everyone was very committed from the outset and we got a great result against a great team. It was a great game, attacking we were virtually perfect, so it was a great game that gives us confidence."

Liverpool's next test comes at Stamford Bridge this Friday when they take on Chelsea.
