Jurgen Klopp praises "calm football" following victory over Leicester City

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp talks up his side's "calm football" after the Reds beat Premier League champions Leicester City 4-1 at Anfield.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has praised his side's "calm football" after the Reds beat Premier League champions Leicester City 4-1 this evening.

Klopp's charges produced a memorable victory in their first home fixture of the new campaign, as goals from Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana helped to seal an impressive performance inside a redeveloped Anfield.

"At the end it was a great performance over 90 minutes," Klopp told BT Sport after the game.

"I thought it was a good challenge for us today because I know we can be really strong. If something does not work we have to show we can stay in the race, and believe in our style. We played calm football, but we can't create with each pass, each movement.

"Leicester have big quality, are always a threat, even after we scored our third. It was a good performance in a wonderful place."

The Reds currently occupy fifth place in the league standings, having claimed seven points from a possible 12 so far.
