Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has described his side as "worthy winners" after their 3-1 victory over Liverpool at the Reebok Stadium.
Mark Davies, Nigel Reo-Coker and Gretar Steinsson were all on target as the Trotters moved out of the relegation zone.
"It's a transitional season as we've said, but we knew we were capable of having a big second half of the season," said Coyle. "We've now taken six points from the last nine available and we know there is room for improvement. Some of our football was of a high standard and we were worthy winners."
Bolton host Swansea City in the fourth round of the FA Cup next Saturday.
