Jordan Henderson has described Liverpool's pre-season trip to Hong Kong as "difficult" and "humid", but believes that it served as ideal preparation for the new season.
The Reds participated in the Premier League Asia Trophy, overcoming Crystal Palace and Leicester City to win the cup.
Jurgen Klopp's men had to contend with stifling heat and high humidity, with many training sessions carried out at night when it was marginally cooler.
However, Henderson believes that he and his teammates will feel even fitter when they return to European climes as a result of their exertions in the Far East.
"It's difficult conditions, very humid, but it's good for us because it's pre-season and we've got to get fit," the Liverpool captain told the club's official site.
"We'll benefit from that when we go back home. It'll give us that bit of confidence with how hard we've worked here in these conditions. We go back home happy, but [there's] still a lot of hard work to do."
Liverpool will now travel to Germany, where they will take on Hertha Berlin and Bayern Munich.
