Jurgen Klopp claims that Mohamed Salah has enjoyed such an impressive campaign in front of goal thanks to the selfless work of others in Liverpool's ranks.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that Mohamed Salah has his teammates to thank for a large chunk of his goals this season.

The Egyptian forward has earned widespread praise for his displays since arriving at Anfield from Roma last summer, as he remains on course to break the record for the most goals in a 38-game season.

Salah currently has 29 Premier League goals for the campaign, just two short of the previous best, and still has six more games to add to his tally.

Asked how he is getting the best out of the 25-year-old, Klopp pointed out that his star performer is possibly benefiting from the work of others in the Liverpool side.

"I think Mo has made strides forward within this team through the way in which the team play and the way the other lads interact with him on the pitch," he told UEFA's official website. "The way they look to him as such an important player and the way everyone unselfishly tries to play him in.

"The defensive work is done for him, that way he regularly gets into goalscoring positions. With some of his goals he had to beat five men so I can't say he profited a lot from what the others did, but with a lot of his other goals he did profit from it. And I believe this interaction has allowed him to take the next step so everything's gone well so far."

Salah's latest strike proved to be the winner as Liverpool edged past Crystal Palace 2-1 at the weekend.
