Sadio Mane will attempt to break a long-standing goalscoring record when Liverpool play host to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Sadio Mane will attempt to make history on Saturday afternoon when Liverpool play host to Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

The 29-year-old has enjoyed a solid start to the season, finding the back of the net in victories over Burnley and Leeds United.

Those two strikes have taken the Senegal international to 99 for Liverpool in all competitions ahead of the Eagles making the trip to Anfield.

While Mane will be focused on reaching triple figures, the attacker is also aiming to become the first player to net in nine successive matches against the same opponent in the Premier League.

The streak begun on the second weekend of the 2017-18 campaign, with seven solitary goals being backed up by a double in the most recent fixture between the two sides in May.

In total, Mane has contributed 12 goals and three assists from 14 outings against Palace in all competitions.
