Brendan Rodgers knows where to bolster Liverpool

Brendan Rodgers says that he knows what areas to strengthen in order to have Liverpool competing at the high end of the Premier League again.

Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he has identified the areas that Liverpool need to strengthen if they are to mount a Premier League title bid next term.

Having come within one point of the title last season, the Reds failed to build on that promise as 22 points separate them and champions Chelsea after Sunday's 1-1 draw.

Rodgers's side, who sit fifth in the table, are also almost certain to finish outside the Champions League places, but the Northern Irishman says that he can put things right in time for the 2015-16 campaign.

"We know the areas where we need to strengthen the squad, and hopefully we can do that," he told his post-match press conference.

"If we want to make the next step, we need to find the right acquisitions in the summer."

Steven Gerrard cancelled out John Terry's opener at Stamford Bridge yesterday afternoon.
