England Under-21s manager Gareth Southgate has admitted his concerns about Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe, who he believes is lacking confidence.
Ibe was sent off in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Switzerland Under-21s in the Young Lions' Euro 2017 qualifying campaign.
The winger has struggled to force his way back into the Liverpool first XI as he has not played since coming off the bench in his side's 3-0 win over Manchester City at Anfield on March 2.
"I think players, especially at Jordon's age, go through peaks and troughs," The Mirror quotes Southgate as saying. "He doesn't look full of confidence at the minute.
"We have got to try and help him get to the level that we think we can achieve. He doesn't look like he is in a rhythm.
"We have got Nathan Redmond to come back from injury. Demarai Gray played really well in Switzerland. Duncan Watmore has got to come back. So there is the competition for places. A sending off puts you out of the side. That is the difficulty."
Ibe will miss the home qualifier against Norway as punishment for his sending-off, which came about after two bookable offences.
