Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has admitted that he loves receiving jeers from rival supporters.

The 23-year-old was the subject of boos from a handful of Fulham fans due to his former allegiance to Chelsea during yesterday's clash, in which the forward netted a hat-trick to win the game for the Reds at Craven Cottage.

Despite the frosty welcome, Sturridge has insisted that he thrives on "banter" from the fans while he is on the pitch.

"I love that," Sturridge told the club's official website. "I hope the fans do it every game. It doesn't really matter what they say to me. I love the banter, it's what I live for. So hopefully they'll keep giving me stick!

"For me it's all about hard work and it's down to me to be dedicated to my job and not to let myself, my family or my manager down. It's up to me to show what I'm capable of doing."

Sturridge is expected to lead the line for Liverpool's final game of the season against Queens Park Rangers this Sunday.
