Brendan Rodgers marked his 100th game in charge of Liverpool with a comprehensive victory over Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane this afternoon.

The visitors were ahead after just eight minutes when Raheem Sterling slid the ball past Hugo Lloris, while a second-half penalty from Steven Gerrard and a solo effort from Alberto Moreno sealed the points.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at who impressed during an entertaining match in North London.

TOTTENHAM

Goal

Hugo Lloris: Will be unhappy with his effort for the opening goal. Looked like he could have got to Sterling's strike, but appeared to briefly assume that the winger wouldn't reach the ball, and that hesitation proved critical. Made a couple of decent stops aside from that, but could do nothing about the other goals. (6/10)

Defence

Eric Dier: Made a dream start to his Tottenham career but had a tougher time of it today. Gave away the penalty with a tug on Allen - albeit a soft one - and also lost possession on a number of occasions. (5/10)

Younes Kaboul: Struggled against the pace of Liverpool's attack, but was not given much protection by those in front of him. (6/10)

Jan Vertonghen: Much like Kaboul, was overrun at times as Liverpool poured forward on the counter-attack. Coped with Balotelli and Sturridge as best he could, but it was a tough afternoon for the defence. (6/10)

Danny Rose: Was unable to have his usual impact going forward and struggled at times defensively. The first goal came down his side, but that was due to poor cover from the midfield rather than any error from Rose. (6/10)

Midfield

Etienne Capoue: Completely overrun in the middle of the park. Failed to track Henderson in the build-up to the first goal and struggled all afternoon to stop a rampant Liverpool side. (4/10)

Nabil Bentaleb: Also overrun in midfield. The visitors dominated the middle of the park, and that was the basis for their victory. Bentaleb was powerless to stop Sterling at the tip of the diamond. (5/10)

Erik Lamela: Has made a promising start to the season but was ineffectual today. Failed to create anything despite Tottenham seeing the majority of the ball. (5/10)

Christian Eriksen: So often the puppet-master for Spurs last season, but anonymous this afternoon. Did not have anywhere near as big an impact on the game as he would have liked, and was taken off before the hour. (5/10)

Nacer Chadli: Squandered Tottenham's best chance of the match with the score still 1-0 to Liverpool. Another who really struggled to make an impact. (5/10)

Attack

Emmanuel Adebayor: Battled away up front and had a say in his side's two best chances of the match, but could only do so much with such limited service. His side's best player. (6/10)

Substitutes

Mousa Dembele: Replaced Bentaleb just before the hour but had very little say on the game as Liverpool got their third a minute later. (6/10)

Andros Townsend: Joined Dembele in coming on in the 59th minute, but was immediately caught in possession as Moreno raced through to score Liverpool's third and kill the game off. (5/10)

Ben Davies: Came on for his league debut with just over 15 minutes remaining, but didn't get a chance to show what he can do. (6/10)

LIVERPOOL

Goal

Simon Mignolet: Had just one save to make, but it was a good one to deny Chadli. His first clean sheet of the season, and a comfortable afternoon on the whole. (7/10)

Defence

Javi Manquillo: Solid performance from the Spaniard, who kept the likes of Lamela and Eriksen quiet all game. Glen Johnson may find it tough to win his position back. (7/10)

Dejan Lovren: Commanding display at the back from the summer signing. Whenever he made an error, he quickly atoned for it, and helped a new-look Liverpool back four to a rare clean sheet. (7/10)

Mamadou Sakho: Typically shaky on the ball at times, but on the whole a solid performance from the Frenchman. May have to do a bit better to keep Skrtel out, though. (7/10)

Alberto Moreno: Very impressive display. Bounced back from a mistake against Man City to put in an accomplished display both in defence and attack, capped with a superb goal. (8/10)

Midfield

Jordan Henderson: Tireless performance again from Henderson. Never gave Tottenham a moment of rest and contributed to Liverpool's midfield dominance. (8/10)

Steven Gerrard: Had a poor first half, giving possession away far too often, but bounced back with a solid display after the break. Got himself on the scoresheet, albeit from the spot, and made a few important defensive interceptions. (6/10)

Joe Allen: Won the penalty for his side, but went down too easily inside the box. Other than that, a decent display in the middle of the park which stopped Spurs creating anything. (7/10)

Raheem Sterling: Once again, his side's best player. A livewire throughout, testing the Tottenham defence time and time again. Took his goal well and should have had another but for a poor finish after a scintillating run. (9/10)

Attack

Mario Balotelli: Very promising debut for the Italian, who showed no signs of his negative character traits during his hour on the pitch. Was impressive in general play, but wasteful with his finishing. Should have scored after just three minutes and gone on to grab a first-half hat-trick. (7/10)

Daniel Sturridge: Bright throughout as he linked up with Sterling well. Didn't get on the scoresheet himself but had a number of threatening moments, including his involvement in the opening goal. (8/10)

Substitutes

Lazar Markovic: Replaced Balotelli just past the hour mark, but didn't do much as Liverpool saw out a comfortable last half hour. (6/10)

Emre Can: Came on at the same time as Markovic, but by then the game had already been won and he didn't have to do much. (6/10)

Jose Enrique: Made his return from injury for the final four minutes. No time to impress, but an important cameo. (6/10)
