Preview: Liverpool vs. Everton

Liverpool and Everton head into tomorrow's Merseyside derby in contrasting form. Here, Sports Mole previews one of the biggest derby matches in European football.

Liverpool head into tomorrow's Merseyside derby on a poor run of form that has seen them collect just four points from a possible 18.

Visiting Everton will travel to Anfield boosting 12 points from the same amount of games.

The old saying goes that form goes out of the window during a derby fixture, something the Reds will be hoping is the case come 8pm tomorrow night.

Hosting Liverpool are expected to recall captain Steven Gerrard, who start Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Sunderland on the bench. Manager Dalglish may also be tempted to partner Luis Suarez in attack with Andy Carroll.

Fresh from scoring his first goal for Everton at the weekend, Nikica Jelavic is likely to play as lone striker for the Toffees.

England midfielder Jack Rodwell may also be included in the starting lineup following his return from injury.

Everton will leapfrog Liverpool in the Premier League table if they collect all three points.

Current form:

Liverpool: LWDLLL
Everton: DWDWDW

Possible lineups:

Liverpool: Reina; Enrique, Skrtel, Carragher, Johnson; Downing, Adam, Gerrard, Kuyt; Carroll, Suarez

Everton: Howard; Neville, Distin, Heitinga, Baines; Drenthe, Rodwell, Cahill, Osman, Fellaini; Jelavic

Sports Mole says: 1-1
