Result: West Bromwich Albion 0-2 Liverpool

Goals from Charlie Adam and Andy Carroll help Liverpool to secure maximum points at West Bromwich Albion.

Goals from Charlie Adam and Andy Carroll during the opening 45 minutes allowed Liverpool to claim all three points at the Hawthorns this evening.

The visiting Reds opened the scoring in the ninth minute courtesy of a Charlie Adam penalty. Jerome Thomas was the offender, bringing down Luis Suarez inside the area and referee Lee Mason pointed to the spot. Adam stepped up to dispatch his effort past Ben Foster.

As the half drew to a close, Suarez and Carroll linked up for the latter to slot his shot beyond the reach of an advancing Foster.

Kenny Dalglish's side continued to attack after the restart, and only a parry from Foster denied Suarez from opening his account for the night.

As stoppage time approached Liverpool went close to making it three, but Stewart Downing's effort struck the foot of the post.

The hosting Baggies struggled to create any goalscoring chance of note as manager Roy Hodgson slipped to a defeat against his former employers.
