Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge has urged the club to do what they can to keep hold of Luis Suarez for next season.
The Uruguayan has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Anfield since the summer, with Real Madrid said to be keen on signing the 26-year-old forward.
However, Aldridge believes that the Merseysiders would be foolish to sell Suarez at the end of the current campaign.
"I don't think it would be a wise decision to let Suarez go," he told Goal.com.
"I know that it will also depend on the player as well, but I believe he must continue at Liverpool next season. He is one of the best strikers in the world - we must never forget that."
Suarez has scored eight goals in seven games for Liverpool so far this season.
