Celtic 'mull Steven Gerrard loan bid'

Celtic reportedly propose a January loan deal for outgoing Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.

Celtic are reportedly offering Steven Gerrard the chance to join the Scottish giants on loan during the MLS off-season.

Gerrard agreed to leave boyhood club Liverpool to join Los Angeles Galaxy on an 18-month deal at the end of the current campaign.

According to The People, the Hoops are keen to lure Gerrard to Celtic Park in the next January transfer window, for a possible three-month stint.

The ex-England captain has made it clear that he has no interest in joining one of Liverpool's Premier League rivals, but Celtic's hierarchy are said to be mulling a proposition to allow the 34-year-old to play in Scotland during the New Year.

However, it is thought that Liverpool have left the door open for a possible return for their midfielder next year, which he will consider if the circumstances are right.
