Liverpool are reportedly still in talks with Max Kruse, but they face strong competition for the free agent's signature.
The 31-year-old has decided against signing a new contract with Werder Bremen and will therefore be without a club from July 1.
Kruse is rumoured to be in discussions with Liverpool over a switch to the Premier League, though The Express suggests that Bayern Munich, Roma and Fenerbahce are also interested in snapping up the Germany international.
Jurgen Klopp is keen to add Kruse to his squad as Daniel Sturridge's future at Anfield looks uncertain and another back-up forward may be required.
In his final campaign in the Bundesliga, Kruse scored 11 goals and set up nine more.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked in recent months.
