Liverpool have reportedly joined the race to sign Sevilla defender Diego Carlos ahead of the January transfer window.
Having left Nantes for the La Liga outfit in the summer, Carlos has established himself as a key man at the club, making 18 starts in Spain's top flight.
Earlier this week, it was suggested that Manchester City had identified the Brazilian as a future signing at some point in 2020.
However, according to El Desmarque, Liverpool are ready to make their move for the 26-year-old, who is said to have a £65m release clause.
The report suggests that Jurgen Klopp is prepared to meet that figure at the midway point of the campaign as he bids to bring in a fresh face for the middle of his backline.
Carlos's arrival would potentially allow for Dejan Lovren to take on a fresh challenge elsewhere.
