A report claims that there is now a three-team race to land Emre Can from Liverpool, as Manchester City have joined Juventus and Bayern Munich in the running.

Manchester City have emerged as contenders to sign midfielder Emre Can from Premier League rivals Liverpool, according to a report.

The Germany international has yet to agree fresh terms on a new deal at Anfield and is expected to leave as a free agent next summer.

Juventus have made no secret of their desire to land the 23-year-old on a Bosman at the end of the season, while Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes has also talked up a potential move in the New Year.

Italian outlet Calciomercato suggests that both sides face stiff competition from Man City, however, as the Citizens are willing to offer him wages of more than £4m a season.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insisted earlier this week that the contract impasse with Can is not a problem, despite being free to speak to foreign clubs from January.
