Javier Manquillo 'set for Liverpool medical on Monday'

Javier Manquillo will fly to Liverpool for a medical on Monday ahead of two-year loan move from Atletico Madrid, according to reports.

Javier Manquillo is reportedly flying to Merseyside to undergo a medical at Liverpool on Monday ahead of finalising a loan move from Atletico Madrid.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the 20-year-old defender will move to Anfield on a two-year loan, with the Premier League club having an option to strike a £5m permanent deal next summer.

It is said that the exact price of any permanent deal would be determined by the number of appearances that Manquillo, who joined Atleti after being released by Real Madrid as a teenager, makes during his time with the Reds.

Meanwhile, Liverpool could complete a deal for another full-back in the coming days, with the Reds thought to be resurrecting their interest in Alberto Moreno.

The transfer looked to be off over a difference in valuation, but The Mirror claims that the move could be back on.
