Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic is reportedly pondering a move to Newcastle United in order to revive his career.
The 22-year-old joined the Reds from Benfica in 2014 for a reported £20m fee, but after his first season he was sent on loan to Fenerbahce.
The Serbia international does not appear to be in Jurgen Klopp's plans, but he reportedly rejected a chance to join Sporting Lisbon permanently in a £16m deal.
According to Goal.com, Markovic is considering dropping down into the Championship to play for Rafael Benitez, who has placed the winger as his top target before the transfer window closes on Wednesday.
The report adds that the Magpies are open to a permanent or loan deal.
