Liverpool could be on the verge of completing a double defensive signing after reports claimed that they have agreed a fee for Paris Saint-Germain defender Mamadou Sakho.
Brendan Rodgers wants to bolster his centre-back options following injuries to Sebastian Coates and Martin Skrtel, whose long-term future at Anfield is under question, and a deal is also apparently in place to bring Thiago Ilori to Anfield from Sporting Lisbon.
France international Sakho is a product of PSG's academy, but has found himself out of favour following the arrivals of Brazilian trio Alex, Marquinhos and Thiago Silva as part of the club's recent big spending.
Nasser al Khelafi, who is the chairman of PSG, holds the same position at French broadcaster beIN Sport, and they understand that the 23-year-old is being allowed to leave the Ligue 1 champions for Liverpool in a £19.6m move.
Sakho has been left out of the PSG squad for their fixture against Guingamp on Saturday.
