Luton Town in talks to sign Andrew Johnson

Luton manager John Still reveals that the club have held talks with former England striker and reported Hatters fan Andrew Johnson over a move to Kenilworth Road.

Luton Town manager John Still has revealed that they have held talks with former England striker Andrew Johnson over a move to the club.

The 33-year-old, who won the last of eight Three Lions caps in 2007, is a free agent after being released by Crystal Palace earlier this week.

Hatters boss Still is eager to bring Johnson, who is a boyhood Luton fan and lives near their Kenilworth Road ground, to League Two and is expecting developments over the next "week or 10 days".

He told Sky Sports News: "We've had some talks, we agreed to give it a few days, we're not rushing into it and Andrew wasn't rushing into it.

"I think it's a case of talks continuing over the next week or 10 days. It's something that we have spoken about as a club, we have had a talk about it and will continue those talks over the next three or four days."

Johnson has also previously played for Birmingham City, Everton, Fulham and Queens Park Rangers.
