Kolo Toure insists that his younger brother Yaya Toure will be fit to play in the Africa Cup of Nations despite being taken ill in Abu Dhabi yesterday.

Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has dismissed claims that his younger brother Yaya Toure may miss the Africa Cup of Nations through illness.

Yaya received treatment for a cough and high fever in an Abu Dhabi clinic yesterday after sitting out the Ivory Coast's open training session on Sunday.

Kolo has insisted that preparations for the tournament are on course and that Yaya will be ready to play in South Africa.

He told reporters: "Yaya had a couple of days off. Apart from that, everything is going very well at the training camp and we are happy to be here."

The Elephants have a warm-up match against Egypt next Monday before flying to their training base in South Africa ahead of the tournament's opening day on Saturday, January 19.
