Manchester City injury, suspension list vs. Sheffield United

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League fixture with Sheffield United on Saturday.

Manchester City play host to Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon looking to record their 12th successive win in all competitions.

Seven of those victories have come in the Premier League, resulting in Pep Guardiola's side putting themselves in contention at the top of the standings.

However, at a time when the Spaniard is having to rotate his squad on a game-by-game basis, there are several ongoing issues regarding team selection.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of welcoming the Blades to the Etihad Stadium.

Kevin De Bruyne

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: February 27 (vs. West Ham United)

Having sustained a hamstring problem during the fixture with Aston Villa earlier this month, De Bruyne has been ruled out for at least four weeks. As a result, the playmaker is expected to miss crunch matches with Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

Sergio Aguero

Status: Out
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: Unknown

Aguero recently recorded a positive coronavirus test, resulting in him having to undergo another period of isolation. With the Argentine spending a prolonged period away from the training ground, he is likely to remain absent from the squad for a couple of weeks.

Nathan Ake

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: Unknown

Ake has endured a frustrating five-and-a-half months at the Etihad Stadium, being restricted to just nine appearances due to injury. While he is making steady progress in his recovery from his latest fitness issue, the Netherlands international is not expected to feature at the weekend.
