Sergio Aguero: 'Three points more important than goals'

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero insists that the three points were more important than his four goals in the 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Sergio Aguero has said that victory was more important than his four-goal haul during Manchester City's 4-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Aguero's impressive goalscoring run continued as he netted all four goals - and missed a penalty - in the home victory, but the Argentine has insisted that it does not matter who scores as long as the Citizens are winning.

"I am very happy to be part of the history of this club and I hope I can continue scoring goals," Aguero is quoted as saying by the Belfast Telegraph. "But the most important thing is City can win games with my goals.

"I was very happy with my performance, but the most important thing is we got the three points."

Aguero's four-goal haul has seen him rise to the top of the Premier League goalscoring charts alongside Chelsea's Diego Costa.
