Alan Irvine: 'Individual errors cost us'

Alan Irvine laments a number of individual errors after West Bromwich Albion lose 3-1 at home to Manchester City.

West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Irvine was left to rue "individual errors" after seeing his side lose 3-1 at home to Manchester City this afternoon.

The Premier League champions raced into a 3-0 half-time lead and coasted to victory despite a late consolation goal from Brown Ideye.

"We started well, but the first time City went up the pitch they got a goal which was down to our mistake," Irvine told BBC Sport after the final whistle.

"We continued to look as if we might score and we came very close on a few occasions.

"We still looked as if we were very much in the game, but we made individual errors that when you make them in the Premier League are costly, and when you make them against Manchester City they are extremely costly."

West Brom have won just one of their last eight league games and lie in 16th place in the table.
