Raheem Sterling: 'Manchester City have made me better'

Raheem Sterling believes that he has improved as a player following his £49m switch from Liverpool to Manchester City.

Ex-Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has suggested that he is already a better player as a result of appearing in a star-studded Manchester City team.

The 20-year-old sealed a £49m summer move from the Reds to become the most expensive British player in history.

With six goals in all competitions, Sterling is on course to beat his previous best of 11 in a season, and the England ace credits his improvement with playing alongside such stellar teammates.

"I've been doing okay with my club, I'm happy to be top [of the Premier League] and I've scored in a few important games as well," he told reporters.

"Hopefully I can keep scoring for City, it's been a good few months and hopefully it can continue.

"Going training with players of that calibre like Vinny [Vincent Kompany], Sergio [Aguero], David [Silva], Joe [Hart] - there's only one thing you can do and that is improve.

"They've been around achieving for a number of years now and I'm happy to be in a squad like that. Hopefully I can continue that development for club and for country."

Manuel Pellegrini's side sit top of the Premier League on goal difference ahead of Arsenal.
