Manchester City have seen off visitors Wigan Athletic thanks to a Sergio Aguero hat-trick.
The Blues dominated the first half, Aguero opening the scoring in the 13th minute from the edge of the box. There was a chance to further the lead five minutes later but former captain Carlos Tevez failed to hit home a penalty past Ali Al-Habsi.
Wigan failed to turn the tide in the second half as Aguero scored his second just after the hour mark with the help of new signing Samir Nasri. He completed his hat-trick six minutes later, striking into the bottom right of the net.
