Manchester City make first Neymar contact?

Manchester City seek out Neymar's representatives during England's match with Brazil at Wembley for preliminary talks over the Santos star's future, according to reports.

Manchester City have reportedly made initial contact with Neymar's representatives as the race to sign the Brazilian striker hots up.

Neymar's family were at Wembley to watch the starlet play against England for Brazil last month and City's executive team held preliminary discussions with his management company in the VIP area during the match, according to the Daily Mail.

City chief executive Ferran Soriano and director of football Txiki Begiristain are thought to have entered IMG's hospitality area and introduced themselves to Neymar's camp during England's 2-1 win over the Selecao.

Neymar has been courted by Europe's top clubs for some time but is expected to stay at Santos until after the 2014 World Cup in his home country.

La Liga remains the 21-year-old's destination of choice, with Barcelona and Real Madrid in pole position at this stage to sign the skilful forward.
