Manchester City are still interested in signing Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi, according to reports.
The Daily Star understands that City will act to appease Roberto Mancini by bidding for De Rossi after the manager voiced his frustration at the lack of new additions this summer.
Mancini is a long-term admirer of the 28-year-old Italian international, who would cost a considerable sum due to being under contract at Roma until 2017.
In January Mancini went on record as saying: "De Rossi is a champion and would be the perfect man to improve City."
Time is running out for the Citizens to sign new players before the opening game of their Premier League title defense against Southampton on August 19.
