Nigel De Jong claims that he wants to stay at Manchester City next season.

Manchester City midfielder Nigel De Jong has insisted that he will remain at the club next season.

It had been suggested that the 27-year-old could depart the Premier League champions after contract talks broke down, but he has claimed that he wants to stay.

"My contract runs for another year — so I'm in a pretty good position. I want to stay. I've been at the club more than three years and I'm feeling really well. I have won the FA Cup and the league title, which are the biggest trophies in England," he told The Sun.

De Jong's contract expires next summer.
