Manchester City left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko reportedly wants to fight for his place at the Etihad amid links with a switch to Real Betis.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is determined to fight for his Manchester City place despite links with Real Betis, according to a report.

The Ukraine international represents one of Pep Guardiola's only senior left-backs following Benjamin Mendy's club suspension, but regular starts have still been hard to come by.

Zinchenko has only made seven Premier League appearances this season as Joao Cancelo thrives in the left-back role, leading to talk of a possible transfer in 2022.

Real Betis are thought to be keen to lure Zinchenko to La Liga, but The Sun claims that the 25-year-old wants to stay and fight for his spot in Guardiola's XI.

Zinchenko's existing deal with the Premier League champions is due to expire in 2024, and the report adds that the defender hopes to play his way into a new contract at the Etihad.

Zinchenko has registered two goals and nine assists from 112 games for Man City since joining from Ufa in 2016 - winning three Premier Leagues, one FA Cup and four EFL Cups in that time.
