Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini expects Carlos Tevez to stay, while Arsenal's Samir Nasri remains a target.

Roberto Mancini has admitted that Carlos Tevez is likely to stay at Manchester City, while talks with Arsenal over Samir Nasri are ongoing.

The 27-year-old striker, who has frequently stated that he wants to leave the Premier League, was close to a move to Brazilian side Corinthians before the deal fell through last month.

Despite the Argentinian’s desire to move, Mancini admitted that he would be “happy” for the frontman to stay.

"It is two weeks until the end of the market," Sky Sports News quotes Mancini as saying. "I think it is difficult for him to leave.

"I don't know if he will stay but at the moment, there isn't a team who want to take him. I would be happy if he stays."

Meanwhile, the Italian boss revealed that he intends to bring in a few more players, with Arsenal’s Samir Nasri being a potential target.

"I don't know the situation at the moment but the Premier League season starts for us on Monday and we have not completed our team," he added. "I hope we can do this very quickly because we need other players."

When asked if talks between Arsenal over Nasri were taking place, Mancini said: "I think the club is still working on this. Probably it is not easy, but I don't know.

"It is important we complete our team in the next days or the next week, because the first games in the Premier League are really important and we play three games before they close the market."

The 46-year-old also confirmed that Tevez would not be in contention to feature in the club’s first Premier league fixture against Swansea on Monday, August 15.
