Chris Coleman: 'Marcus Rashford not guaranteed success at Euro 2016'

Wales boss Chris Coleman says that there is no guarantee that Marcus Rashford's call-up to England's Euro 2016 squad will be a success.

Wales manager Chris Coleman has said that he does not know what to expect from Marcus Rashford at Euro 2016 after the Manchester United striker was called up to the England squad.

After netting eight goals during the closing months of the season, Rashford was given an opportunity on the international stage by Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson and he did not disappoint as he scored minutes into his debut against Australia on Friday night.

However, despite his early success, Coleman has suggested that there is no guarantees that the teenager will prove to be a hit when the tournament gets underway in France later this month.

Coleman told BBC Sport: "Some players go into the tournament on fire and they fall flat. You see others come from nowhere, like [Salvatore] Schillaci for Italy in the 1990 World Cup and bang the goals in.

"It is hard to call it. Ability-wise, he is a good player, and has a real good mentality. I couldn't say what to expect. As soon as he's there, he will have to adjust, as we all will."

England and Wales are scheduled to meet in their Group B fixture in Lens on June 16.
