Sunday's FA Cup predictions including Arsenal vs. Man United

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's FA Cup fixtures, including Arsenal vs. Manchester United.

Hull City vs. Doncaster (Sunday, 12.00pm)

As part of this weekend's FA Cup Third Round action, Championship Hull City are set to host League Two Doncaster Rovers on Sunday at The MKM Stadium.

The hosts are making their first foray into the competition this season, while the visitors came from behind to beat seventh-tier Kettering Town to reach this stage.

We say: Hull City 2-0 Doncaster Rovers

Neither side are in the best form at the moment, and both have recorded two wins, one draw and two losses from their last five matches.

However, Hull's performances have improved under boss Selles, and given their commendable showing last time out against title-chasing Leeds, they could enjoy a comfortable win over their League Two opposition on Sunday.

Tamworth vs. Spurs (Sunday, 12.30pm)

Tamworth's humble 4,000-seater home could be the scene of the next FA Cup giant killing on Sunday lunchtime, when Premier League titans Tottenham Hotspur rock up to the Lamb Ground for a blockbuster third-round tie.

The fifth-tier hosts are one of just two non-league teams still competing for cup stardom, while their revered visitors are approaching the 17-year mark without a major honour next to their name.

We say: Tamworth 0-5 Tottenham Hotspur

An already injury-hit Tottenham side should put out a highly inexperienced attack and defence for Sunday's game, offering Tamworth a sliver of hope that they can pull off the upset of all upsets.

However, Postecoglou's lack of senior options means that he should still field a few players with plentiful experience, and it will surely only be a case of how many the Lilywhites win by.

Arsenal vs. Man Utd (Sunday, 3.00pm)

The two most successful clubs in FA Cup history collide in a blockbuster third-round encounter on Sunday afternoon, as Arsenal host defending champions Manchester United at the Emirates.

The Gunners boast an unrivalled 14 triumphs in the competition but have disappointed since last conquering the cup in 2020, while the Red Devils endeavour to retain the crown they clinched courtesy of their shock success versus Manchester City several months back.

We say: Arsenal 1-1 Manchester United (a.e.t, Arsenal to win on penalties)

Newcastle's exceptional defensive work at the Emirates must be applauded, but Arsenal let themselves down with atrocious finishing and might struggle just as much against a Man United side whom they needed two corners to defeat in December.

Victory at the Emirates may still be beyond Amorim's men, though - one strong showing at Anfield will not guarantee a sustained upturn in fortunes - and even if Arteta's men are taken all the way to spot kicks, they should have enough guile on home turf to end Man United's defence at the first hurdle.

Newcastle vs. Bromley (Sunday, 3.00pm)

Following their remarkable rise towards the Champions League spots in the Premier League of late, Newcastle United will turn their attentions to the FA Cup as they welcome Bromley to St James' Park on Sunday.

The Magpies continue to battle on three fronts this term after the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final earlier this week, whilst the Ravens are fighting hard for success in League Two.

We say: Newcastle United 3-0 Bromley

Battering teams in the Premier League, Newcastle should have no issues in putting fourth-tier Bromley to the sword at St James' Park this weekend.

The Magpies have an array of talent in reserve should they rotate their XI, meaning that there is little hope for the Ravens of a historic upset in the North-East.

Ipswich vs. Bristol Rovers (Sunday, 3.00pm)

Looking to put their 2024 FA Cup embarrassment firmly behind them, Ipswich Town will welcome Bristol Rovers to Portman Road for a third-round clash on Sunday afternoon.

The Tractor Boys enjoyed a share of the spoils at Craven Cottage against Fulham last time out, whilst the Gas managed a much-needed victory in League One following a change in management.

We say: Ipswich Town 2-0 Bristol Rovers

With last year's Maidstone nightmare in the back of their minds, Ipswich should be fully concentrated on avoiding another major FA Cup upset this weekend.

Bristol Rovers have struggled to pose an attacking threat in the third tier of late, so we find it hard to envisage the Gas pulling up any trees at Portman Road.

Crystal Palace vs. Stockport (Sunday, 3.00pm)

League One outfit Stockport County travel to Selhurst Park this weekend, hoping to upset the odds against Crystal Palace in the third round of the FA Cup.

The hosts have only reached the fourth round of the competition once in the past five seasons, but they come into this tie as firm favourites against a club two divisions below them.

We say: Crystal Palace 3-1 Stockport County

The hosts have certainly struggled for goals this season, but with two divisions between the club, Palace should have enough here to see off Stockport.

We expect the visitors to sorely miss the goals of their former loanee Barry, but we think they will score a consolation goal in a comfortable home win.

Southampton vs. Swansea (Sunday, 4.30pm)

Premier League strugglers Southampton host Swansea City this weekend, as the two sides square off in the third round of the FA Cup.

With the hosts rooted to the bottom of the table, they will view this cup tie against Championship opposition as an opportunity to get their first win under new manager Ivan Juric.

We say: Southampton 1-2 Swansea City

This is a tricky game to call, as Southampton have struggled all season and it is difficult to see them winning anywhere at the moment.

The nature of the Brentford result last weekend would have been a crushing blow to the new management team, and we think Swansea will pile on the misery here with a slight upset at St Mary's this weekend.
